The Department of Sociology established this award to recognize graduate student instructors for their teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. To be nominated a graduate student must have taught at least two undergraduate courses in the Department (see attached list for eligible nominees). Winners will be awarded at the Department’s Student Awards Ceremony.

Some points to consider when nominating a Graduate Student:

1. Does this instructor stimulate your interests in the subject matter?
2. Are you intellectually motivated to do more than the minimum work required in the course?
3. Does the instructor exhibit dedication by consistently being available and helpful whether that is during office hours, online, after class and/or through D2L to answer questions?
