Elliot uses they/them pronouns and is a queer, non-binary, first-generation college student. They are studying algorithms, law and society, race and gender, and bias in software. Elliot received their Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Mary Washington in 2012. Prior to graduate school, they worked as a senior business analyst, Lean Six Sigma black belt, and lead delivery manager in both the insurance and technology industries. 

Elliot is currently working on a project that explores how legal research tools shape legal knowledge. They will present their research-in-progress at the 2020 Pacific Sociological Association conference in Eugene, Oregon.
