About Krista Frederico
Krista is a second-year PhD student in Sociology at The University of Arizona. She is interested in gender, organizations, social movements, and law. Currently, she is interested in Family Responsibility Discrimination in the workplace and studying the benefits of organizational integration of work/life balance accommodations. She received both a BS (2008) and MS (2012) in Sociology from BYU, where she taught Sociology of Gender for two years. Her Master's thesis, "Open (Adoption) for Business: Opposing Movements and Environmental Opportunity Structures in the Adoption Organizational Field, 1972-2000" used Yellow Pages listings across the time period to understand the growth in the number of adoption agencies during a time of decreasing adoption placement.
