Zheng's research interests are widely spread across inequality and social stratification, sociology of science, and computational social science. Her current focus is on inequalities within the sciences and the corresponding mechanisms.
Previously, Zheng had a background in history and computational social science, with undergraduate and master's degrees in China and Sweden.
