Hung-Ju Chen
Ph.D. Student
Hung-Ju Chen is a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona. His research interests include organizational change and transformation, collective action, power and politics, and culture. Methodologically, Hung-Ju primarily employs qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and systematic reviews, while actively expanding his toolkit for future research.
Hung-Ju's bachelor’s thesis examined Taiwan's high school student government activities and students’ rights to participation, which was later published in Amicus Curiae in 2024. For his master’s thesis at the University of Arizona, he seeks to examine the transnational faith-based practices and advocacy of a religious organization across Taiwan and the United States.
Hung-Ju is a recipient of the Fulbright Graduate Study Award for AY 2025–2027. Prior to his studies at Arizona, he earned his B.A. in Political Science (International Relations division) and Sociology from National Taiwan University in 2023.
