Ruohong is a PhD student in sociology department at University of Arizona, working at the intersection of computational sociology, health disparities, and demography. He mainly uses natural language processing (NLP) and statistic models to study social inequalities and social dynamics. His ongoing projects treat text as data by turning documents, open-ended answers and online forum posts into measurable signals. He conducts most of the works through R and Python, picking models that fit in research questions and academic goals. His prior experience in textual analysis has deepened his interests in sociology and he is committed to interdisciplinary approaches to explore social science insights.
