Derek Martin

Derek Martin is a multi-year lecturer at the University of Arizona. He received his P.h.D. from the University of California. His teaching and research interests focus on Social Inequality, Race and Ethnicity, and the Sociology of Leisure. He is the primary instructor of the five Sport & Society courses: SOC 302, Sport & Society; SOC 304, Race, Class, Gender, and Sports; SOC 316, Adolescence and Sports; SOC 347, Globalization and Sports; and SOC 365, Cultural Studies of Sports.
