Field
Criminal Justice; Pretrial Services
Description
Pretrial Services, with the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County, helps assess the release eligibility and suitability of pretrial defendants. The Assessment Office, which is located at the Pima County Adult Detention Center, assesses individual cases by interviewing defendants, verifying information with references and completing criminal history background investigations. The agency's Supervised Release team provides an alternative to detention by monitoring a defendant's performance through the pretrial period. Pretrial Services Officers monitor a defendant's adherence to court-ordered release conditions, help assure court appearance, and refer individuals to outside agencies for any requested service needs.
