Jun-Jie Lin is a Sociology Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona. His research interests lie in social networks, inequality, and social movements. Broadly, his focus is on how social inequalities are sustained through unequal distributions of social capital. Also, he is interested in examining which social structures are more likely to enable individuals to initiate collective actions. His previous work centered on online biker groups and examined how social media enables bikers to build a distinct risk culture and initiate offline protests to challenge authorities. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from National Taipei University.
