Rebecca’s research interests include medical sociology, the body and embodiment, sex and gender, and sexuality. More specifically, her work focuses on the psychosocial experiences of chronically ill and disabled people, while paying special attention to sexual and gender minorities. Rebecca has earned bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University, as well as an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Houston. Her thesis research investigated gender disparities in the diagnosis of Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
