Binational Migration Institute Workshop
Last weekend was the Binational Migration Institute's First Conference, led by Dr. Dan Martinez. The conference included two panel presentations that were open to the public. Panelists from California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas were part of the Working Group that is developing methods to document migrant deaths along the US-Mexico Border. With an excellent amount of public participation, the event was standing room only. The Working Group also participated in a site visit to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner and continued with a workshop to define future directions and goals of the group.
